The American Red Cross of Idaho, Montana and East Oregon has named Crystal Sinclair as its new chief development officer. Sinclair, who lives in Nampa, brings more than 20 years of fundraising and donor engagement experience to the organization.
She returns to the Red Cross after serving as director of development for Boise State University's College of Arts and Sciences since 2023. In her new role, she will lead philanthropy and development efforts across the region, helping strengthen support for the Red Cross mission and the communities it serves.
"We are excited to welcome Crystal back to the Red Cross family," said Nicole Sirak Irwin, CEO of the American Red Cross of Idaho, Montana and East Oregon. "Her extensive fundraising experience, proven leadership and deep passion for nonprofit service will help us continue to grow our impact.”
Sinclair's connection to the Red Cross dates back to the start of her nonprofit career. In Seattle, she coordinated major Red Cross fundraising events, including the King County Heroes Breakfast, and launched a young professionals volunteer program that attracted 250 members in its first year.
"This feels like a Red Cross homecoming," she said. "I started my career with the organization, and its mission has stayed with me ever since.”
A fifth-generation Idahoan, Sinclair brings a strong track record of fundraising success. Prior to Boise State, she spent 10 years with Mission Aviation Fellowship, where she led the organization's planned giving program. During her tenure, she successfully facilitated $4.3 million in estate gifts and secured more than $2 million on future bequest commitments in a single year. She also directed marketing and events for major donor programs.
In addition to her work with the Red Cross and Mission Aviation Fellowship, Sinclair also managed education programs at the Idaho Nonprofit Center.
Sinclair holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Utah State University and is a two-time AmeriCorps alumna.
As chief development officer, she will oversee fundraising strategy and donor engagement efforts that support Red Cross services, including disaster relief, support for military families, blood collection and community preparedness programs.
“I'm looking forward to working alongside partners in the community who make our mission possible,” she said. “Together, we can strengthen philanthropic support and deliver help and hope to people when they need it most.”
