In August 2022, Uber driver Fritz Sam spotted a house on fire n Brooklyn, New York, while driving a passenger to LaGuardia airport. He pulled over and sprung into action, saving the lives of two residents. Once he was outside and saw the first responders on scene, he returned to his vehicle and continued his route. And they got to the airport on-time.
In July 2022, 16-year-old Corion Evans jumped into a river to rescue three passengers when their car drove off the road and into the Pascagoula River in Moss Point, Mississippi. During the rescue effort, a police officer began to struggle as well, and Corion helped bring him to shore safely.
In December 2021, sixth-grader Davyon Johnson performed the Heimlich maneuver (abdominal thrusts) on a classmate who was choking on a bottle cap and on the same day he saw a disabled woman leaving her burning home and ran over to help her get into her truck and leave. He told reporters he wants to be an EMT.
