[AUGUST 1, 2024 — GREENWICH, CONN.] – The American Red Cross Metro NY North chapter is proud to announce that three new people have officially joined the chapter’s Board of Directors: Leila Horn, a non-profit executive; Douglas Kim, an advertising executive; and Colonel Sean J. Hipp, the Commander of West Point Health Service Area.
“We are thrilled to welcome Douglas, Sean, and Leila to our Board of Directors,” said Stephanie Dunn Ashley, CEO, American Red Cross Metro NY North Chapter. “The incredible breadth of experience that they bring to the table will be tremendously valued by our organization and to the people helped by the Red Cross.”

ABOUT COLONEL SEAN J. HIPP
Colonel Sean J. Hipp, MS | MD | FAAP is the 61st Commander of West Point Health Service Area/Keller Army Community Hospital. He has previously served as the Command Surgeon for First Army Headquarters, and in various roles at Brooke Army Medical Center including Chief Medical Officer, Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Residency Program, Battalion Surgeon, and as a clinical Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist. He was deployed to Afghanistan with the 1-91 Cav, 173rd ABCT where he served as Squadron Surgeon. He has received military awards including the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (four oak leaf clusters), the Army Medical Department Order of Military Medical Merit (O2M3), and the Surgeon General’s “A” Proficiency Designator. He was part of the 2018 U.S. Army Health Information Technology Mercury Team Award for Virtual Medical Center. Colonel Hipp received his Bachelor of Science in biology from Georgetown University, Doctor of Medicine from Temple University School of Medicine, and a Master’s Degree in biomedical science from Drexel University. He has completed residencies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill as well as the Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
He is currently enrolled in U.S. Army War College Distance Education Program Class of 2024.
ABOUT LEILA HORN
Leila Horn is the Executive Director of Friends of Bocconi University, a New York-based non-profit organization supporting alumni engagement and fundraising. She has previously founded Odyssey of the Mind, a grant-based program focused on education in Greenwich, Connecticut and has served as a development consultant for Fabiani & Co. Earlier in Leila’s career, she also served as Publicity Director for Rizzoli International Publications in New York as well as Managing Director for Gambero Rosso magazine and Colors Magazine. She has volunteered extensively in Greenwich and surrounding communities, including with the PTA and other organizations at Greenwich High School, Central Middle School, and Cos Cob Elementary School; the Greenwich Alliance; St. Paul’s Day School; Smith College Club; St. Catherine of Siena Church; CT Roughriders Hockey Club and CT Junior Rangers.
Leila has lived in Greenwich, Conn., since 2006 with her husband, her three adult children, two dogs and cat. She grew up in Rome, Italy and attended the American Overseas School of Rome. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and a minor in Italian Literature from Smith College.
ABOUT DOUGLAS KIM
Douglas Kim is a Vice President in Marketing and Communications at the Greenwich office of iCapital, a global fintech platform for alternative investments. During his career in the advertising industry, he has helped build some of the world’s most respected brands, including IBM, Intel, American Express, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch. He specializes in helping businesses find a voice in rapidly evolving areas, such as private equity, cybersecurity, web3 and machine learning.
He also serves as president of his class at Trinity College. His family is active at St. Matthew’s Church in Bedford, NY, where he recently served two terms on the vestry. Douglas and his wife live with their teenage son in Mahopac, NY, where they have a 19th century farmhouse that is a “perpetual work in progress.”
