Glenda Juarez is a proud member of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice division with over 25 years’ experience in correctional management, as a Sergeant of Correctional Officers.   Skilled in Crisis Response Intervention Program (CRISP), Field Training Officer (FTO), Training for Trainers, Certified Spanish Interpreter, and recently completing FEMA coursework through the "Preparing Texas" platform.  The Preparing Texas platform allows correctional facility staff to take various emergency management training modules including basic incident command system (ICS) and emergency planning, contributing to preparedness for disaster situations within correctional facilities.  Supporting the American Red Cross-Coastal Bend Chapter was a natural fit for her as she believes in supporting communities and organizations prepare and respond to disasters.

As a Field Training Officer Sergeant Juarez trains new officers on how to apply what they've learned in the academy to practical situations. Evaluating new officers’ performance, providing feedback, and guiding new officers as they transition from the classroom to hands-on assignments at their assigned correctional facility.  Sgt. Juarez administers the 144-hour on-the-job training program at the William G. McConnel Facility in Bee County where she supports local initiatives like Grey Santa, providing toys to underserved children in Beeville, and organizing holiday food distributions by partnering with local non-profits.

As a Human Resource professional, Leslie has handled all aspects of Human Resources for over 45 years while serving a diverse population.  Leslie has worked for state, profit and not-for-profit companies, as well as, hospitals, refineries, hotels, IBM, TPCO (Steel Company) and currently continues to consult.

Leslie’s areas of knowledge in Human Resources includes Workers’ Compensation, Unemployment, Hiring and Discharge, Coach, Counsel and Discipline, 403b and 401K, all aspects of benefits, Orientation, Payroll, OSHA, Safety, Training, EEO, Policies and Procedures, Compensation, Recruitment and Retention, FMLA and COBRA, to name a few.

Leslie graduated from Corpus Christi State University (CCSU), now known as Texas A&M University with a Bachelor in Business Administration in Management with an emphasis in Personnel.  She is a graduate of Leadership Corpus Christi, Class of 44 and Dale Carnegie and is a Past President of the Corpus Christi Human Resource Management Association (CCHRMA) and Past President of the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas (HWNT).

Leslie is currently on the Red Cross Board of Directors and Del Mar College Business Cluster Advisory Committee.  Leslie also volunteers for Red Cross as the Lead for the Naval Base Corpus Christi and Kingsville, as well as being a Community Partner for Services to the Armed Forces (SAF) and continues to stay very active in our community.

My Name is Kent Young, I am the Public Relation/Business Development officer with Dawson’s Recycling, Disposal, Demolition & Trucking.  Our companyHas been in business since 1994 serving South Texas areas.  I was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. I have been married to my Wife of 38 years Monie Young in the South Texas area, living in Corpus Christi, Alice, Beeville, Victoria and now reside in Mathis, Texas.

I am very active in the communities we serve focusing on growth of business and the Youth of these areas.  I am a commissioner for the Buccaneer Commission and Chairman of Operation for Buc Days and the Corpus Christi Pro Rodeo.  We are a scholarship program with over Two million dollars in scholarships given to date.  I serve on several Boards & committees including Past Chairman of Associated Builders & Contractors, Chairman of Sinton Chamber of Commerce, Vice Chairman of the Portland Chamber Foundation Board, Chairman of Leadership Corpus Christi alumni Board and Board Member of the American Red Cross, I work with Portland Windfest and Buccaneer scholarship committee, Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House and the Food Bank with our scholarship participants.

Kent has a quiet leadership style and leads by example. Evidence of his open mindedness is proven by his willingness to seek out like-minded leaders so as to continue to expand his business and contribution to the community.
