Douglas Crowson joined the organization in June 2017 as the executive director for the American Red Cross Serving Texoma. Crowson will oversee Red Cross programs and services for more than 1.9 million people in Collin, Cooke, Denton, Fannin, Grayson, Hunt, Montague and Wise counties.
Prior to joining the Red Cross, Crowson spent more than 15 years at Boy Scouts of America where he garnered extensive experience in board development, fundraising, volunteer growth and community relations. Most recently, he functioned as the district director in South Central Oklahoma where his service area was composed of nine counties stretching over urban, rural and suburban areas. He also served the Boy Scouts as the senior district executive in Texarkana and district executive in Wichita Falls. Crowson served eight years in the U.S. Army.
Crowson has a bachelor’s degree in biology from East Central University and a master’s degree in human services from Murray State University.
