Nicholas Glasgow
Nicholas Glasgow serves as Fire Chief of Mapleton City Fire Rescue and as Board Chair for the American Red Cross Central and Southern Utah Chapter. He joined the Board of Directors in 2023 and was appointed Board Chair in 2025, where he helps advance the organization’s mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering. Chief Glasgow has built a strong partnership with the Red Cross, supporting numerous blood drives, disaster response efforts, and community preparedness initiatives throughout the region.
Appointed Fire Chief in 2018, Chief Glasgow leads an all-hazards fire and emergency medical services organization serving Mapleton and surrounding communities. Under his leadership, the department has strengthened operational performance, expanded service delivery, and enhanced community risk reduction programs.
Prior to his current role, Chief Glasgow served ten years with CAL FIRE / Riverside County Fire Department, rising to the rank of Fire Captain Paramedic. His career reflects extensive experience in emergency response, leadership, and service to diverse communities.
Chief Glasgow holds a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Services Administration from Utah Valley University, where he graduated summa cum laude. He also earned associate degrees with high honors in Wildland Fire Management and Emergency Services with a Fire Officer emphasis. He holds the Chief Fire Officer designation through the Center for Public Safety Excellence and is currently enrolled in the Executive Fire Officer program at the National Fire Academy.
He remains actively engaged in the fire service and broader public safety community through his involvement with the Utah State Fire Chiefs Association, Utah County Fire Chiefs Association, Mapleton Public Safety Committee, Utah County Arson Task Force, Kauwahi Anaina Hawaii Hawaiian Civic Club, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
David Sturgeon
David Sturgeon has been a member of the American Red Cross Central & Southern Utah Chapter Board of Directors since 2022. Demonstrating exceptional leadership, David was appointed Vice Chair of the Board of Directors in 2025. His commitment to community service spans a lifetime, with active involvement in various church organizations, nonprofits and the Boy Scouts.
He relocated to Hurricane, Utah, in 2021, and has since been committed in his efforts to support communities in their recovery from devastating events such as fires, hurricanes and other disasters. A dedicated advocate for health and wellness, he is a long-time Red Cross blood donor and contributes his expertise as a member of the Biomedical Committee.
Prior to his retirement, David built an impressive career as a hospital chief financial officer, serving in several states, including Utah, Ohio, Washington, New Mexico, Minnesota and Oregon. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
