WENATCHEE, Washington - Our country is experiencing an increasing number of wildfires. More communities are at risk than ever before. To help, the Red Cross and partners will go door to door with education and guidance on how to defend their homes.

Wildfire defense awareness education and services are FREE and include a checklist of important actions to prepare for the next wildfire occurrence. These brief Red Cross and partner visits are meant to provide guidance on best practices for preparing for wildfire threats.

Please be mindful, if a wildfire happens in your community don’t wait, evacuate! We also ask that residents participate in our pilot Wildfire Prep home visits to prepare themselves, their families, and their communities. Participants can help reduce the amount of economic loss and emotional toll that emergencies can cause communities attempting to recover. Members of the community who would like to serve as volunteers with the Red Cross during future outreach events may contact their local Red Cross office for further details.
