PADUCAH, Ky. March 23, 2026 — The American Red Cross is proud to recognize Lone Oak Elementary School as the largest Future Blood Donors blood drive partner in the Kentucky Region, celebrating more than 16 years of life-saving impact.
Through the leadership of blood drive coordinator Emily Bremer, the school community has helped collect more than 1,200 blood donations over the years, each one playing a critical role in supporting patients in need.
To honor this extraordinary commitment, the Red Cross will present Lone Oak Elementary with a special recognition certificate at its annual drive on Wednesday, March 25 at 1:00 p.m., highlighting the school’s longstanding partnership and dedication to helping save lives.
“This recognition reflects the power of a school community coming together to make a real difference,” said Jennifer Barnett, Red Cross Western Kentucky Executive Director. “Lone Oak Elementary and Emily Bremer have created a culture of service that not only supports patients today but also inspires the next generation of blood donors.”
“We are incredibly proud of Lone Oak Elementary and the example they continue to set for our entire district,” said MacCracken County Superintendent Josh Hunt. “This recognition reflects years of commitment to service and shows our students that they have the power to make a difference in the lives of others.”
The Future Blood Donors program encourages students to host and support blood drives in their communities, helping ensure a stable blood supply for hospitals. Lone Oak Elementary’s success serves as a model for schools across Kentucky, demonstrating how young leaders can make a lasting impact. The Red Cross hopes this recognition will inspire other schools to start or grow their own Future Blood Donors programs and join in this life-saving mission.
