Kerry Taylor, center, received the American Red Cross Certificate of Merit. This is the highest award given by the Red Cross to an individual who saves or sustains a life by using skills and knowledge learned in a Red Cross training services course. Also pictured are Louisville Area Chapter board chair, Regan Nichols, Red Cross Kentucky Region CEO, Nadine McCrindle, and fellow co-workers of Kerry’s from DeBra-Kuempel.
Several months ago, Kerry Taylor was attending a lunch meeting at a restaurant in Louisville, KY when he noticed a woman across the dining room choking. He immediately ran over to her, introduced himself and obtained consent to administer aid. Kerry then assisted the woman out of the booth and administered three abdominal thrusts which successfully cleared the woman’s airway. Without a doubt, the skills and training he learned in American Red Cross Adult First Aid/CPR/AED, helped save her life.
For this act, Kerry was awarded the American Red Cross Certificate of Merit. This is the highest award given by the Red Cross to an individual or team of individuals who saves or sustains a life by using skills and knowledge learned in a Red Cross training services course.
