Red Cross youth volunteers learn valuable lessons in how to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, mobilize communities and create positive change. They hone their leadership skills, make new friends, and explore new interests, all in a friendly, encouraging and age-appropriate environment with visible results. Volunteering today can be the start of a lifetime of generous service to good causes.
The Youth Program is represented by Red Cross Clubs organized at high schools and colleges throughout Greater New York. The High School and College Programs provide club members with meaningful opportunities to serve their communities and to develop valuable leadership skills. Additionally, youth are encouraged to become permanent members of the American Red Cross in Greater New York family as they grow within the organization and take on increasing levels of responsibility.
Being a Red Cross High School or Campus Club member builds character and provides the tools and experience needed for attaining strong leadership, communication+,+ and community service skills. By interacting with those in need, Red Cross youth volunteers establish a sense of awareness and personal achievement while developing these skills.
All Red Cross Club Members Must be Registered in Volunteer Connection; this process is outlined below.
