SALT LAKE CITY (Sept. 19, 2025) — American Red Cross of Utah Blood Donation Centers will be open this weekend, giving donors a final opportunity to receive a PEANUTS® x Red Cross mystery bag with a limited-edition T-shirt as a thank-you gift. Utahns can join the more than 250,000 donors nationwide who have participated in this lifesaving campaign by donating blood by Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025.
“The response to our PEANUTS campaign has been truly inspiring,” said Jeremiah Lafranca, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Greater Salt Lake Chapter. “This final weekend offers an important opportunity for the community to help save lives while receiving a special thank-you gift. Every donor’s generosity helps ensure hospitals have the blood supplies needed to care for accident victims, cancer patients and many others both here in Utah and across the country.”
Since its launch on Aug. 25, the PEANUTS x Red Cross collaboration has inspired over 250,000 blood donation appointments nationwide. Each mystery bag contains one of four exclusive T-shirt designs featuring beloved PEANUTS characters, and donors won’t know which design they’ve received until they open the bag. A few lucky donors will find a golden ticket in their mystery bag, redeemable online for the full set of all four designs.
Blood Donation Centers Open This Weekend
Red Cross Blood Donation Centers in Salt Lake City, Lehi and Layton will be open this weekend, offering Utahns a final opportunity to donate blood and receive an exclusive PEANUTS x Red Cross T-shirt.
Donating is easy and makes a difference. Schedule an appointment today using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting redcross.org/GiveBlood or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Use sponsor codes SaltLakeCityUT, LaytonUT or LehiUT to make an appointment at one of the donation centers.
Celebrate with PEANUTS and the Red Cross
Blood donations often decline this time of year as families focus on back-to-school routines and end-of-summer plans. However, the need for blood never stops. Someone in the U.S. requires a transfusion every two seconds. In Utah, nearly 45 hospitals rely on the American Red Cross to provide blood for accident victims, cancer patients, mothers experiencing complications during childbirth and others facing medical emergencies.
