SALT LAKE CITY (Sept. 14, 2025) — Time is running out to join Snoopy and the gang in celebrating 75 years of PEANUTS® while making a lifesaving impact. The American Red Cross is reminding blood donors that there is just one week left to receive an exclusive PEANUTS x Red Cross mystery bag containing one of four limited-edition T-shirt designs. Donations must be made by Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025, to claim this special thank-you gift.
Since the designs were revealed on Aug. 25, the PEANUTS x Red Cross collaboration has inspired over 175,000 blood donation appointments nationwide. Each mystery bag includes one of four T-shirt designs featuring beloved PEANUTS characters, but donors won’t know which design they’ve received until they open the bag. Adding to the excitement, select mystery bags include a golden ticket that donors can redeem online to receive all four T-shirt designs.
“The PEANUTS collaboration has been a wonderful way to bring joy to our donors while emphasizing the critical need for blood donations,” said Benjamin Donner, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Central and Southern Utah Chapter. “Every blood donation helps save lives, and this campaign is a fun and meaningful way to thank those who step up to make a difference.”
How to Donate and Receive a Mystery Bag
Donating is easy. Appointments can be made by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting redcross.org/GiveBlood or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
Celebrate with PEANUTS and the Red Cross
This time of year, blood donations often decline as families focus on back-to-school routines and end-of-summer plans. However, the need for blood is constant—someone in the U.S. requires a transfusion every two seconds. The American Red Cross, which supplies about 40% of the nation’s blood, plays a critical role in meeting that need. In Utah alone, nearly 45 hospitals rely on the Red Cross to provide blood for accident victims, cancer patients, mothers experiencing complications during childbirth and others facing medical emergencies.
To inspire blood donations, the American Red Cross and PEANUTS are once again teaming up to thank donors. In celebration of the 75th anniversary of PEANUTS, all who come to give blood, platelets or plasma from Aug. 29 to Sept. 21, 2025, will receive an exclusive PEANUTS x Red Cross mystery bag featuring one of four special T-shirt designs, while supplies last. Full details are available at RedCrossBlood.org/Peanuts.
Urgent Need for Type O and B Negative Blood
While all blood types are needed, the Red Cross is urging those with Type O and Type B negative blood to donate. Type O positive is the most transfused blood type, compatible with 85% of patients. Type O negative is the universal blood type used in emergencies. Type B negative is rare, found in less than 2% of the population. Patients with B negative blood can only receive transfusions from B negative or O negative donors.
