SEATTLE, Sep 13, 2024 – The American Red Cross of King County is proud to announce two new leaders joining the chapter’s Board of Directors: Heath Whelan of Avanade and Jasmine Layton, a Senior Director at Unity.

“We are thrilled to welcome Heath and Jasmine to our Board of Directors,” said Megan Dulgar, CEO, American Red Cross Northwest Region. “The incredible breadth of experience that they bring to the table will be tremendously valued by our organization and to the people helped by the Red Cross.”

“It is an exciting time to welcome such a dynamic duo of new board members to the Red Cross” said Cara Bailey, Board Chair, American Red Cross King County Chapter. “They bring a wealth of professional experience and fresh perspectives that will be vital to our continued humanitarian work serving the communities in King County and throughout the Northwest Region.

ABOUT HEATH WHELAN
Heath is a 30-year veteran of the Technology Consulting industry across Asia-Pacific and North America. He helps enterprise IT leaders enable their businesses with confidence, control and convenience through the adoption of cloud computing. For more than 20 of those years, he was worked for Avanade – a joint venture between Accenture and Microsoft. His current role is Global Go-To-Market Lead for Avanade’s Cloud Consulting business where his responsibilities include bringing new services to market the creation and execution of market development, offering development and sales enablement programs.

Heath has a bachelor’s degree in information technology from Swinburne University (Melbourne, Australia) and a Masters of Business Administration from Melbourne Business School (Melbourne, Australia). He lives in Seattle with his wife Emily and their three children (Ruby, Elsie & Ernie).

Over the last year Heath has been inspired by the American Red Cross through his volunteering efforts including participating in Sound the Alarm, Blood Donation, natural disaster mapping initiatives and fundraising efforts. He looks forward to bringing his time, experience and passion to bear for the Red Cross mission.

ABOUT JASMINE LAYTON
Jasmine joined the world’s leading platform for creating and operating real-time 3D (RT3D) content in 2022 and now serves as Senior Director of Corporate Accounting for Unity. She previously served in accounting roles with Amazon and over 11 years with Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Jasmine is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University’s School of Business. She is also licensed as a CPA in California and Colorado. She has lived in the greater Puget Sound area for over 20 years with her family and small children.

A true humanitarian, Jasmine champions several causes that support families of immigrants arriving to our region as well as research for St. Jude’s Hospital.
