KENNEWICK, Wash. — Community members have just a few days left to take advantage of early registration pricing for the 2026 American Red Cross Run for the Red Turkey Trot presented by Gesa Credit Union. Early registration rates end Oct. 15 for the annual Thanksgiving Day event, which raises critical funds to support the Red Cross Home Fire Campaign.
For more than two decades, residents throughout the Tri-Cities have come together on Thanksgiving morning to walk, run and trot in support of the American Red Cross. The family-friendly event regularly brings together thousands of participants while helping ensure local families affected by home fires receive the support they need during some of life's most challenging moments.
More than 2,500 participants are expected to attend this year's event, continuing a Thanksgiving tradition that unites neighbors in support of families impacted by home fires and other disasters.
The 2026 Run for the Red Turkey Trot will take place on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026, at Columbia Park in Kennewick. Participants can choose between a 1-mile course or a 5K route, with options available for walkers, runners, families, strollers and adaptive mobility participants.
"A home fire can change a family's life in a matter of minutes, and Red Cross volunteers are often there within hours to help," said Michele Roth, executive director of the American Red Cross Central and Southeastern Washington Chapter. "The Turkey Trot gives our community a chance to come together on Thanksgiving morning and directly support that work while creating a meaningful holiday tradition."
Participants may register as individuals or as part of a team. Early registration pricing is available through Oct. 15 for the following options:
To date, participants and supporters have raised more than $43,900 toward this year's fundraising goal.
All proceeds from the 2026 Run for the Red Turkey Trot support the American Red Cross Home Fire Campaign. Home fires remain the nation's most frequent disaster, and funds raised through the Turkey Trot help the Red Cross provide emergency assistance, recovery support and preparedness resources to families affected by home fires.
