SEATTLE/TACOMA, Washington — After a search filled with truly outstanding candidates, the American Red Cross Northwest Region is excited to announce that Shannon Glenn will serve the Red Cross as the new Executive Director of the South Puget Sound & Olympics (SPSO) Chapter, supporting Pierce, Lewis, Thurston, South Mason, Mason and Grays Harbor counties.
Shannon is a trusted and familiar leader in our community, having served on the SPSO Red Cross Board and other local nonprofit boards. She brings a collaborative spirit, strategic mindset, and a deep commitment to community service. She has consistently demonstrated her strengths as a convener of people, a self-starter, and a strategic executor of projects and ideas. Her leadership will focus on strengthening partnerships, understanding local needs and assets, and coordinating Red Cross services across the chapter.
About Shannon Glenn:
Shannon is an experienced community affairs and public relations professional with a strong background in event planning, volunteer management, fundraising, and outreach programs. She joins the Red Cross from Puget Sound Energy, where she most recently served as Community Affairs Manager, supporting public affairs and communications, managing fundraising relationships, coordinating volunteer efforts, and building meaningful community connections across Lewis, Pierce, and Thurston Counties.
Some of her proudest accomplishments include creating a statewide scholarship program at every community college in Washington, coordinating storm response efforts, and cultivating deep relationships throughout her service area. Shannon holds a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Strategic Change Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.
Outside of work, Shannon enjoys clam digging in Westport, serving on local nonprofit boards, and exploring new places. She’s passionate about community building and believes that authentic relationships are the foundation of meaningful change.
