As part of the American Red Cross response to historic flooding across Washington State, local Red Cross board members are visiting impacted families to provide presents to children displaced from their homes for Christmas.

Northwest Washington Chapter board member, Brad Fielberg, will be at the Candlewood Suites Sumner at 12:45 pm on Christmas Eve. The address is 2520 136th Ave Ct E. Sumner, WA 98390. 

Since the flooding began in early December, the Red Cross has helped more than 1,740 households in Western Washington by providing: 

• 2,224 overnight stays in 30 emergency shelters
• 19,526 meals and snacks
• 9,307 relief items, including comfort kits and cleaning supplies

These operations are supported by 335 trained Red Cross disaster workers from local communities, and many who have deployed here to support relief efforts from across the country. 

Red Cross responders can provide assistance that may include emergency shelter, food, clothing, and other urgent needs.
