On Monday April 17, the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region hosted the 4th Annual Celebrity Golf Classic in Burbank, CA. Joe Pesci, James Caan, Kelsey Grammer, Ray Romano and many more of Hollywood’s biggest names generously donated their time to support American Red Cross Disaster relief efforts.
Nationally acclaimed sports journalist, Rich Eisen, emceed the awards dinner that followed rounds of golf and stated in his opening remarks, “I don’t know about you, but, personally, I sleep better at night knowing that the Red Cross is here in our community, every day of the week, every hour of the day! “The Red Cross being here lets me rest easy, knowing that they are ready to serve my family and everyone, whenever they are needed!”
Los Angeles Region CEO, Jarrett Barrios, was also in attendance and noted how thrilling it was to have the support of so many prominent Hollywood names stating, "Each year we have a great time at this event but the best thing is that we are all focused on making a difference in the lives of those effected by emergencies and disasters. The funds raised today will go a very long way to help those in need.” He also reminded us that big or small, every donation helps and everyone can make a difference.
Other celebrity supporters included: Robbie Amell (“The Duff”), Dave Annable (“Brothers & Sisters”), Jonathan Banks (“Breaking Bad”), Michael Chiklis (“The Shield”), Patrick Fabian (“Better Call Saul”), Chuck Finley (retired Major League Baseball left-handed pitcher), Guy Finley (writer), Mardy Fish (former professional tennis player), Kurt Fuller (“Midnight in Paris”), Joel Gretsch (“Push”), Kenny Johnson (“The Shield”), Richard Karn (“Home Improvement”), Anze Kopitar (Los Angeles Kings, NHL), Chi McBride (“The Terminal”), Bruce McGill (“Rizzoli & Isles”), Kevin Nealon (“Weeds”), James Remar (“Dexter”), Scott Walker (Golf Central anchor), Peter Weller (“RoboCop”) and Quentin Jammer (Former NFL American football cornerback).
In all, over 125 players took to the course and the event raised approximately $300,000 to help the Red Cross provide life-saving resources, comfort and care during times of disaster.
