Red Cross Clubs are officially recognized clubs on school campuses and throughout the community led by middle school, high school and college students who wish to serve as volunteers of the American Red Cross. Clubs participate in a variety of activities such as service projects and leadership training by planning events at their own schools and participating in Chapter sponsored activities.
Red Cross Youth Corps are unique to the Los Angeles Region. Each of the ten Youth Corps in the Los Angeles Region form an overarching leadership structure for Red Cross Clubs in their catchment area. Youth Corps are led by Executive Boards consisting of a President and seven Officers. All Youth Corps leadership positions are based on annual elections.
Students in Red Cross Clubs and Youth Corps organize fundraisers for a variety of Red Cross initiatives including disasters and overall youth programming. Red Cross Clubs and Youth Corps help the American Red Cross by building awareness, hosting blood drives, promoting Red Cross programs, and much more!
Being a Red Cross Club or Youth Corps member builds character and provides the tools and experience needed for attaining strong leadership, communication and community service skills. Additionally, Club and Youth Corps members are encouraged to become permanent volunteers of the American Red Cross as they grow within the organization and take on increasing levels of responsibility.
1) Apply to Join a Youth Corps or a Red Cross Club Near You!
Complete your volunteer application online and create your Volunteer Connection login. Once you submit an application, you will receive an email with a link to activate your Volunteer Connection account and view your remaining prospective volunteer steps.
Please apply to become a Youth Corps member if there is no Red Cross Club at your school. If you have a Red Cross Club at your school, please apply directly with your school Red Cross Club below. You will be granted Youth Corps membership automatically.
If there is a Red Cross Club at your High School or College, please apply directly with your School Club. Simply zoom into the map to view the schools in your geographical area or enlarge the map by clicking the button in the top right corner to use the search bar to look for your school!
2) Get Consent From Your Parent or Guardian
Print the consent forms, have your parent or guardian sign them, and login to Volunteer Connection to upload the forms to begin your volunteer journey!
3) Come to a Youth Meeting or Service Event!
