MALIBU, CALIFORNIA, July 17, 2026 — The Malibu Community Long Term Recovery Group (MCLTRG), a disaster recovery coalition established by the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu to coordinate long-term recovery resources and support for disaster survivors, is pleased to announce a new grant from the American Red Cross to support individuals and families in Malibu, Topanga, and Pacific Palisades who were impacted by or displaced from their homes as a result of the Palisades Fires.
Founded in April 2025, the MCLTRG brings together nonprofits, government agencies, businesses, and community partners to coordinate resources and support disaster survivors through the months and years required to rebuild their lives and communities
The partnership expands the long-term recovery efforts of the MCLTRG and the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu’s disaster case management program, which has served more than 2,550 individuals, provided over 24,000 hours of casework and care coordination, distributed $3.5 million in donated goods and $3.3 million in cash assistance, and continues to support wildfire survivors on their path to recovery.
“We’re honored to expand our partnership with the American Red Cross as we continue walking alongside our community throughout the long-term recovery process. We are also deeply grateful to the California Community Foundation for serving as our fiscal sponsor and helping support long term recovery,” said Kasey Earnest, Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu.
"This collaboration reflects what is possible when organizations align around a shared commitment to supporting disaster survivors - not only in the immediate aftermath of a disaster, but throughout the months and years of recovery that follow," said Shannon Dunn, Executive Director of the Malibu Community Long Term Recovery Group. "Recovery is a long journey, and partnerships like this ensure that survivors continue to receive the support, resources, and advocacy they need every step of the way."
"We are proud to be partnering with Malibu Community Long Term Recovery Group and the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu,” said Amanda Ree, director of wildfire long-term recovery at the American Red Cross. “Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we're able to continue supporting the communities affected by wildfire and working alongside trusted partners like these will ensure that important work continues in the days and weeks to come."
This new partnership is part of the national Red Cross Long-Term Recovery Program, which supports individual and household recovery and addresses community-wide needs following a disaster.
