Disaster workforce engagement team member Jennifer Sirirat has a passion for helping others. Her healthcare and public health background set her up for success when she joined the American Red Cross in the spring of 2021.
For Jennifer, her Red Cross journey has been meaningful beyond words. Over her two years working with the disaster team, her roles and responsibilities have fluctuated from team member to coordinator.
Jennifer’s favorite part of her role is the variety of responsibilities. “I love the dynamic culture. Every day is different and sometimes unpredictable, but the challenge and complexity are rewarding,” said Jennifer.
In support of the disaster team, Jennifer plays a proactive role in onboarding volunteers and ensuring a positive experience. She is one of the first steps in engaging new volunteers and setting them up for success in their roles.
“Seeing community members respond to the need for volunteers during a time of crisis is so inspiring,” said Jennifer. “Throughout both local disasters and nationwide responses, the way people step up for one another is what runs the Red Cross mission.”
“For people looking to help their community, the Red Cross is the best way to give back. It’s a meaningful experience to help others, and what may seem like a small role can make a big impact,” said Jennifer.
Everyone who works with Jennifer knows her warm, people-loving personality and her willingness to help out. Her behind the scenes role is critical to disaster workforce engagement and the Red Cross mission.
