The American Red Cross of Utah had the great honor of participating in the 12 Days of Christmas at the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center this year. Volunteers created hygiene kids and gifts to pass out to veterans and were able to give a ‘Merry Christmas’ to nearly 500 service men and women who walked through the doors.
Partner organizations like Zion’s Bank and Wells Fargo donated kits for the cause; the Zion’s Bank Veterans Forum donated 120 hygiene kids and took the time to craft messages of love and gratitude to send with their gift.
“This was one of the most inspirational events I’ve seen in my six years as Director, “said Dee Dodwell, Regional Service to the Armed Forces Director for the American Red Cross of Utah. “We had the support of Volunteers services, our Executive Directors, and philanthropists who took the time to really listen to the needs of our veterans.”
The American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces team works hard to be a resource for veterans who may need support after active duty. We are always seeking volunteers who are willing to uplift and serve our veterans; if you are interested in joining us, please visit redcross.org/volunteer today.
