Jayson began his Red Cross journey in 2018 as an Account Manager in Donor Recruitment and quickly made his mark with dedication, excellence, and results that speak for themselves. Over the years, his contributions have been recognized time and again from receiving the DRD Rookie of the Year award in FY19, to being honored with both Level 1 and Level 2 Employee Excellence Awards in FY20, and earning multiple spots in the Donor Recruitment Presidents Club for exceeding annual goals.
In 2023, Jayson was promoted to District Manager of Donor Recruitment for North Los Angeles/San Fernando, where he has led a dynamic team of ten with energy, innovation, and purpose.
Jayson holds a BA in Speech Communication from Cal State Fullerton and brings to his new role not only strong leadership skills, but also a deep understanding of our mission and the communities we serve. I’m confident that his vision and collaborative spirit will strengthen our work across the Northern Valleys Chapter and beyond.
Rick Chiapa is Senior Manager, IPD for Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas). He provides strategic leadership for the capital construction project portfolio by directing, controlling, monitoring, managing and assisting team members and contracting partners. In addition, he is responsible for the CNG support services for all operational departments.
Rick has a broad background in project management, technical, and natural gas pipeline operations. Since joining SoCalGas in 1998, he has held roles with increasing levels of responsibility with each new assignment. He held assignments as Technical Services Manager for Gas Distribution, Field Operations Manager for Transmission Operations, and Portfolio Manager for the Pipeline Safety Enhancement Plan which was a $1.2 B major pipeline rehabilitation program.
Rick currently serves on the board of the American Red Cross, Northern Valleys Chapter. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Northridge, and an MBA from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School.
