For 45 years, Edison International, Edison International Foundation and Southern California Edison have stood alongside the American Red Cross to support communities in times of need.
Together, this enduring partnership, spanning more than four decades and nearly $10 million in lifetime giving, has helped deliver critical relief to people affected by disasters, strengthen community preparedness and ensure access to lifesaving blood services.
As an Annual Disaster Giving Program (ADGP) member, their support in advance of disasters helps the Red Cross respond swiftly to disasters big and small during times of need. Through preparedness initiatives like Prepare LA and Sound the Alarm, Edison has also made a meaningful difference for local families and individuals. Edison employees have demonstrated their deep commitment by providing hundreds of hours of volunteer support for Sound the Alarm, which provides home fire preparedness and safety education to residents.
In addition, Edison has hosted more than 190 blood drives at company facilities, resulting in more than 7,450 units of blood donated and the recruitment of nearly 2,000 first-time blood donors.
As the American Red Cross celebrates its 145th anniversary and Edison International marks its 140th year, we are proud to recognize a partnership built on shared values, trust and a deep commitment to community resilience.
“Edison International’s 45-year partnership with the American Red Cross reflects a remarkable commitment to helping people and communities in times of need," said Jacquelyn Clites, regional CEO of the American Red Cross of Los Angeles. “From generous philanthropic support to encouraging employee volunteerism, hosting blood drives and investing in disaster preparedness and relief, Edison has made a meaningful impact on countless lives. We are deeply grateful for their leadership and enduring partnership."
This work would not be possible without the dedication of Edison employees, leaders and volunteers who have contributed their time, resources, and passion over the years.
The Red Cross extends our sincere gratitude to all who have played a role in building and sustaining this partnership. Together, we look forward to continuing this legacy of impact for years to come.
