Please join us in welcoming Tim Nichols as our new senior community volunteer engagement specialist.

In this new role to our Red Cross region, Tim will help grow and strengthen the Red Cross volunteer workforce by connecting community members with meaningful opportunities. Community-based volunteer engagement focuses on building local volunteer capacity, engaging community partners and creating flexible ways for people to support the Red Cross mission close to home. The approach helps meet unique community needs while providing volunteers with opportunities that match their interests, skills and availability.

Tim brings more than 25 years of experience working with nonprofits, startups and Global 100 organizations, providing a unique perspective on community engagement and program development. Throughout his career, he has helped organizations build strong connections with the people they serve and deliver on their commitments through effective outreach, marketing and relationship- building.

Before joining the American Red Cross, Tim held marketing and product leadership positions with Prolucent Health, Three9 Marketing, Laserfiche, OneHealth, Amazon and T-Mobile. His extensive consumer engagement experience includes helping organizations strengthen communication, deepen relationships and build lasting connections with customers and stakeholders.

A graduate of San Diego State University with a degree in Comparative Literature and Analysis, Tim enjoys spending time outdoors when he's not working. He can often be found camping, fishing, paddleboarding and hiking with his wife, Dharma, daughter, Taylor, and their dog, Kodiak.
