Home fires claim seven lives every day but having working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death by half. The American Red Cross helps reduce home fire deaths and injuries through Sound the Alarm. Save a Life. This series of home fire safety and smoke alarm installation events takes place throughout the year. Sound the Alarm is a critical part of our Home Fire Campaign that was launched in 2014.
