Raul Claros is the Executive Director for the Northern Valleys Chapter of the American Red Cross. His new found passion for the work of the American Red Cross has led him to join the ARC team, full-time. For over a decade, Raul Claros has served the Los Angeles area as a classroom teacher, community organizer, non-profit director and government liaison (both the state level with the California State Assembly and city level with the City of Los Angeles). Developing and executing a sustainable resiliency plan for the community of Van Nuys, the neighboring communities of Pacoima, San Fernando City and beyond, is Raul's primary vision as the new Executive Director of the Northern Valleys Chapter. His commitment to ARC's mission, as well as his understanding of the Prep LA campaign, is demonstrated in his 90 - day plan for the Northern Valleys. This plan includes ambitious, yet attainable fundraising goals, a detailed volunteer recruitment strategy, and continued development of existing partnerships with government entities and community based organizations. With Raul's work experience in organizing diverse communities, he plans on quickly establishing a high functioning working relationship with the Board of Directors of the Northern Valleys Chapter and the ARC leadership team.
