Red Cross youth programs offer students and young adults meaningful opportunities for leadership training and community service. Join over 1,000 Northern California youth volunteers who already learn, serve, and support their communities while gaining valuable life-long skills!
We empower you to respond to the community's needs locally, nationally, and internationally through numerous leadership, education, and community service opportunities.
Red Cross Clubs are in many Northern California high schools and colleges. Members engage in activities such as disaster preparedness training, fund-raising drives, and volunteering at major events (such as Fleet Week). Clubs are run by and for the students with minimal adult involvement, encouraging your creativity to develop new ideas and programs while building leadership and community service skills.

LDC is a four-day overnight summer camp in a beautiful Bay Area location. Over 130 youth delegates gain hands-on experience and training in team-building, leadership roles, CPR and first aid, disaster and emergency preparedness, and other valuable life skills. American Red Cross Northern California Coastal Region hosts an annual Summer Internship Program (SIP) to foster talent and build a robust pipeline of skilled professionals into our volunteer workforce. We strive to provide a dynamic and inclusive learning environment for youth and young adults to feel empowered to grow, learn, and contribute meaningfully with the American Red Cross. Through hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to real-world departmental challenges, we aim to equip interns with the skills, knowledge and networks necessary to succeed in their future careers, both in professional settings and volunteerism.
This year’s SIP concluded on August 11, 2024. SIP 2025 applications and open positions will be announced in March 2025.
