We’re looking for volunteers who can deliver livesaving blood to those who need it most. Are you a safe and dependable driver who can commit to 2-4 shifts per month? If so, we encourage you to learn more!
Committed, compassionate volunteers are the heart and soul of the American Red Cross of the Northern California Coastal Region Chapter. In our region, over 7,000 dedicated people who volunteer their time and energy to help us serve our community. As a volunteer, you play a vital role in fulfilling the Red Cross mission to relieve human suffering by preventing, preparing for, and responding to emergencies and help us strengthen our community.
Red Cross "everyday heroes" come from all walks of life. Young, old, and in-between, everyone has something special to offers including you. Most-Needed Volunteers: Shelter Service Associates and Shelter Supervisors
Be ready to help your local community! Due to predictions for an active hurricane and wildfire season and the complexities of COVID-19, the Red Cross will need thousands of volunteers to care for people when disasters strike. Train now to be a Ready Red Cross Shelter Volunteer so you can answer the call when your community needs it most!
We will need volunteers to help support emergency shelters by staffing different areas including reception, registration, feeding, dormitory, information collection and other vital tasks. We have both associate and supervisory level opportunities available. Will you be ready to roll up your sleeves and help?

General Adult Volunteers
Looking to volunteer on a regular basis? A variety of opportunities are available for you to join us daily, weekly or monthly.
Train teams of your employees as disaster relief volunteers and commit to making these group members available for major local disasters, such as large scale flooding and significant power outages.
Youth Services Program
Volunteers aged 13 - 15 are encouraged to become part of our Youth Program, which offers meaningful opportunities for education, training and community service.
