What are the duties of a disaster volunteer?
When a disaster like a wildfire strikes our area, the Red Cross provides safe shelter, food, relief supplies and comfort to those in need. As part of “Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” you’ll be called on to help in our disaster shelters and serve meals to residents.
What is the time commitment when a disaster happens?
“Neighbors Helping Neighbors” asks volunteers to sign up for an eight-hour shift when needed and does not require a standard two-week deployment. When emergencies strike in our region, you’ll get a list of available shifts to choose whatever works for you and your schedule.
How do I get started?
Start today by clicking here and attending a virtual info session. You will learn about becoming a disaster volunteer and what the role entails. The info session is also your opportunity to ask questions. No commitment required.
