SANTA ROSA, CA (August 12, 2020) — The Board of Directors of the American Red Cross North Bay Chapter held its annual meeting in June and elected four new members to the board.
The new board members bring diverse experiences to this leadership body, including decades of experience in social services, mental health expertise, and the field of law in the North Bay area. The new members began their terms effectively July 1. The newly elected board members are:
- Chandler Jordana - Associate Director of Secure Families Collaborative of Sonoma County
- Catherine Lee - Partner with Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo
- Bill Newlin - Retired
- Dennis Scremin, MS, MFT - Private Psychotherapy Practice
“As we dive into the next fiscal year, we look forward to the potential of our new members combined with the expertise of our officers," says Jeff Baumgartner, Executive Director of the America Red Cross North Bay Chapter. “Their combined diverse experiences are critical to the work our Chapter does for the residents in the North Bay.”
"During the past fiscal year, our work in the community made quite an impact,” Baumgartner says. “Our volunteers responded to 120 local disasters, providing care, comfort, and hope; installed more than 1,700 smoke alarms to make families safer; taught lifesaving skills like first aid, water safety skills, CPR and AED to more than 9,000 residents; and assisted more than 1,100 members of the armed forces.”
Baumgartner also thanked the board's outgoing members, Dan Brattain, Rose Corcoran, Mary Dorman, and Tyler Duchynski (youth) for their years of service to the board.
