San Jose, CA (November 14, 2018) — Close to 200 guests, including 13 honored individuals and organizations, joined the American Red Cross Silicon Valley Chapter at a spectacular event held at the historic Villa Montalvo estate in Saratoga on October 3, 2018. The event paid tribute to community members and organizations for their selfless acts of courage. The highly successful event raised over $185K in commitments and pledges from generous sponsors and donors.
The Heroes celebration is a signature event for the Red Cross Silicon Valley Chapter. It benefits the many lifesaving programs and services that the chapter provides, including responding to local disasters, collecting lifesaving blood, teaching skills that can save a life, and assisting military members and their families.

The honorees nominated for the Hero Awards were selected by a committee of local leaders who considered the degree to which their heroic actions benefited their communities and upheld the values of the American Red Cross.
