SAN JOSE, CA (July 01, 2020) — The Board of Directors of the American Red Cross of the Silicon Valley is beginning the new fiscal year today with an approved slate of officers and three new members who were voted on in recent months.
The following officers, continuing in their positions from last year, will lead the Silicon Valley Chapter board during the 2020-21 year:

“As we begin the new fiscal year, we are excited by the potential of our new members and by the experience of our officers," says Ken Toren, CEO of the American Red Cross of Silicon Valley. “The support of each and every board member is critical to the work our Chapter does for the residents of Santa Clara County.”
During the past fiscal year, that work was very impactful, Toren says. “Our volunteers responded to some 125 local disasters, many of them home fires, in support of more than 750 local residents; they installed more than 1,000 smoke alarms, making the residents in almost 500 local homes safer; and they educated more than 700 school children in emergency preparedness,” Toren says. "And those are just a few of the many ways our chapter made a difference in our local communities during the past year."
