Multiple atmospheric rivers impacted California last winter and spring, with severe weather that upended lives. Over 1,200 Red Cross workers supported safe refuge for displaced families, delivered vital supplies, financial assistance and more.
People wanting to make a lifesaving difference in the Bay Area now have the chance to donate blood or platelets at a new Red Cross Blood and Platelet Donation Center opening Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 5450 College Avenue in Oakland.

Maurice Edan Jordan passed away on June 29, 2019 due to complications from sickle cell anemia. A blood drive was hosted by Edan's sister, Red Cross Board Member Nichole Jordan, in honor of Edan to give the community to donate blood in his memory.
