FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONCORD, CA (December 18, 2018) — The American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter’s Contra Costa County Leadership Council recently recognized local community partners for their help and support in providing comfort and care when disasters occur in 2018.
While the organization garners recognition for national and state efforts such as the support for those impacted by Hawaii’s volcano eruptions, North Carolina and Florida hurricanes, or the Camp Fire, Red Cross volunteers are helping Contra Costa County neighbors, families, and communities recover from local emergencies.
“In 2018, we have seen an increase in the number of requests to provide our services following a crisis or emergency in the Contra Costa County,” said Red Cross Contra Costa County disaster manager Jennifer Lucas. “The American Red Cross could not respond effectively without the generosity of the community, and the relentless commitment of our volunteers. Thank you.”
