In 2024, extreme disasters mounted an overwhelming toll on families and individuals across our country, who faced the second-highest number of billion-dollar disasters ever recorded. Even though more people hear about large disasters like wildfires and floods, the biggest disaster threat in the United States is home fires. Through the Red Cross Home Fire Campaign, we’ve been able to make a difference. Launched in 2014, we have accomplished so much:

2,369 lives saved

3,064,890 smoke alarms installed

1,271,341 households made safer

3,320,760 people served through home visits
