The class was informative. However, it would have been a stronger class if it had required much more interaction and practice with the mannequins.
I previously took a CPR class administered by the American Heart Association. Now that I have taken CPR with both organizations, I can say that the one administered by the American Heart Association was a much better class. With the Heart Association, the majority of the 3-hour class was spent practicing on the mannequins and there were multiple instructors advising the students all throughout the class. In addition, at the end, there was a very formal test of each student's skill set.

Such a Fun and Rewarding Experience!
I had to get infant/adult CPR & AED Certified for the CSULB credential program. I will be honest and say that I was dreading to get certified because I am so busy, and for me, getting CPR/AED certified was just another assignment on my to-do list. Overall, I had a great experience that went above and beyond my expectations! My teacher Jamie was so fun and knowledgeable. Her wonderful personality made everyone in the class feel comfortable and confident. Jamie made sure that all of the information was clear and easy to remember. She also made sure that we all felt able and secure in our new life-saving skills! Jamie was awesome. I left the course with such a positive feeling. I love knowing that I can potentially save someone's life! I highly recommend this course!!

Could use some work
I signed up and took the Adult and Infant AED/CPR/Rescue Breathing class. It felt rushed because it was the first part of a longer course that contained first aid and our instructor wanted our portion finished before the lunch break. If I hadn’t taken the course before, I would have felt too rushed and not confidently prepared. The infant rescue breathing portion was even forgotten, until I asked if we were going to cover that (we had covered adult rescue breathing). All-in-all the course wasn’t horrible, but it felt rushed and incomplete. I would recommend the course under a different instructor or as a stand-alone course (I didn’t see that option while I was signing up).

At least i learned 30/2....
This class could have been taught in 20 minutes. It was a huge waste of time. Also, the teacher was ridiculous. His advice and examples were so bad that I even doubt some of the veracity of his statements. At one point, when a student asked what to do if we are in a situation when someone is performing CPR incorrectly, the teacher said he would "kick them out of the way because he wants to save a life." (Not an exact quote, but he did say he would kick the other person to get them off the victim). At least I learned CPR and got the certificate I needed. The slides and dummies were helpful.

Very informative and educational
This was the best CPR class that I've ever participated in. The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and answered all of the group's questions. I'd also like to point out that she was very accomodating. I am 35 weeks pregnant and she made sure that I was content throughout the entire course. I was able to comfortably perform CPR and use the AED on the dummy, while following the correct guidelines and instructions provided by the American Red Cross. This course was informative and I feel better prepared to help in an unexpected situation.

Excellent Instrutor
Kathy brought energy, expertise, experience and a natural teaching style to make learning a vital topic fluid. The subject matter itself was well laid-out and presented in a way that makes it obvious the Red Cross has years of experience teaching CPR. Hopefully nobody will ever need to practice what is taught, but as my wife and I face a new life with a newborn, having some familiarity with what to do just in case is reassuring.

This course was set up in a way that taught the information effectively, but the instructor made the course a fabulous learning experience.
