This course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid CPR and AED courses. In order to participate in this course you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED (or higher level) certification or equivalent and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. Upon registration it is important that you review and follow the directions on the e-mail attachment sent with your registration confirmation. This is a blended learning course consisting of online content a skills session and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. For more information please reference the attachment you will receive via e-mail when you register for this course.
This blended learning Instructor Trainer recertification course is the required course for all Lifeguarding Instructor Trainers to re-certify. During this course Lifeguarding Instructors and Instructor Trainers will participate in an in-water practice and polish skills session and practice teaching in addition to a classroom-based review of Red Cross administrative policies and procedures. Lifeguarding Instructors may also choose to attend a brief "test out" session following this course to gain a basic-level Lifeguarding certification.

The 2021 Advanced Life Support (ALS) Instructor Course provides instructor training and certification for individuals wishing to become Red Cross ALS instructors. This blended learning course begins with an online session followed by in-person sessions focused on skill demonstration lecture activities and practice teaching. The online Basic Life Support instructor trainer bridge is designed to allow instructor trainers and training center faculty currently certified with approved equivalent training organizations to become certified as American Red Cross Basic Life Support instructor Trainers.Candidates must meet course prerequisites and upload qualifying credential to complete the training and earn American Red Cross instructor trainer certification.Those who have enrolled in this online bridge course on or after May 13 2021 will not be required to complete an Instructor Trainer Update in order to teach new Basic Life Support Focused Updates and Guidelines 2020 content releasing in June 2021.
