This blended learning Instructor recertification course is the required course for all Lifeguarding Instructors to re-certify. During this course Lifeguarding Instructors and Instructor Trainers will participate in an in-water practice and polish skills session and practice teaching in addition to a classroom-based review of Red Cross administrative policies and procedures. Lifeguarding Instructors may also choose to attend a brief "test out" session following this course to gain a basic-level Lifeguarding certification.

This course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid CPR and AED courses. In order to participate in this course you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED (or higher level) certification or equivalent and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. Upon registration it is important that you review and follow the directions on the e-mail attachment sent with your registration confirmation. This is a blended learning course consisting of online content a skills session and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. The EMR Instructor Bridge is an online course for existing Red Cross instructors with equivalent experience or EMR Instructors from other training agencies. Equivalent experience for Red Cross instructors includes state licensure/certification as Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) or Paramedics.It is very important that instructors review and follow the directions on the attachment included with this course.Candidates must meet course prerequisites and upload qualifying credential to complete the training and earn American Red Cross instructor (trainer) certification.
