After receiving your Rochester CNA certification you'll be qualified to join the medical staff at a doctor's office, hospice, in-home or long-term care facility, or hospital. In your role at facilities such as these you'll work under the direction of a nurse, and act as the bridge between patients and nurses. The specific types of duties you may be expected to perform are largely dependent upon the type of facility you work at, however as part of your training we work to ensure that you'll be ready for what lies ahead. To that end, our program includes important training on CPR, First Aid and AED usage, infection control, taking vital signs, range-of-motion exercises, the Art of Caregiving, communication, teamwork, and workplace safety.
At the Red Cross, our CNA classes in Rochester include several weeks of in-classroom learning. This ensures that you're able to learn the theory and skills necessary for successfully completing your clinical rotations. During the in-class portion of your training, you'll learn the Art of Caregiving, CPR, AED usage, First Aid, taking vital signs, and more. During this time, you'll have the time work through problems and scenarios, the opportunity to practice your skills and the chance to learn from experienced, licensed professionals.
CNA classes in Rochester are held exclusively in person and are taught by licensed, caring professional nurses. This helps ensure that you'll get the hands-on training you need to succeed as a Certified Nurse Assistant. All classes are held during daytime hours and are conveniently located near transportation hubs and major thoroughfares, so they're easy to reach no matter where you live.
Once you've successfully passed your CNA classes in Rochester, you will be ready to take your state licensing exam and skills test. These exams are up to you to schedule and are not typically hosted at Red Cross training facilities. Test-day requirements vary by location, but will be available to you well before your test date.
