We offer training and support as you learn new skills with our full-time, intensive phlebotomy training program.
From transporting and setting up blood collection equipment at work sites, to drawing blood from donors, Phlebotomist/Drivers at the American Red Cross work with all aspects of blood drives at schools, offices and churches throughout the community. No experience is necessary (other than having a valid driver’s license) —our paid training is a mix of classroom instruction and field practice. Say goodbye to boredom, because every day on the job is different.
Call Center Service Agents
Call Center Service Agents put our mission into action by phoning blood donors and scheduling them for their next donation appointment. By successfully working with their team, agents aim to increase the availability of blood and blood products in the community, helping first hand to save lives. You’ll thrive in this role if you have great customer service and communication skills, love overcoming challenges and can easily navigate fast-paced environments and new technology.
At the Red Cross, we hire both charge and apheresis nurses to support our blood drives. We work hard and need nurses who can accommodate flexible schedules. As a charge nurse you will lead teams, draw blood and, on occasion, supervise blood drives. As an apheresis nurse you will perform clinical procedures and other tasks to ensure safe care of patients. You should be comfortable performing venipuncture and will need an RN (or LPN, depending on state requirements) license in the state prior to starting work.
Health & Safety Instructors
In this role you will interact with new people, traveling to locations in and around your region to teach CPR, first aid, and AED skills. Classes are held at local chapter offices and at businesses, schools and community organizations. Our instructors thrive on helping others be prepared for emergencies, and take satisfaction in knowing they are directly helping to save lives.
Donor Schedulers & Donor Center Coordinators
Donor Schedulers and Donor Center Coordinators help to recruit blood donors by phoning individuals and contacting active, lapsed or occasional blood donors to increase the frequency of donations and increase the number of donors. In this role, you’ll play a direct part in our life-saving mission, ensuring that others continue to receive the gift of life.
