“Our hearts go out to the families, friends and loved ones of those who have lost their lives due to the coronavirus pandemic. As we near the one-year anniversary of this global pandemic, and as we mark the tragic loss of more than 500,000 lives in the U.S., we share in this collective heartbreak, and recommit to our tireless endeavors to deliver our humanitarian mission to alleviate suffering for those in need.
Even in our grief, we must take care of one another. To battle this pandemic and protect vulnerable members of our communities, it’s important we continue to adhere to safety measures to prevent further spread of this deadly virus: wear a mask, stay at least 6 feet apart, avoid crowds, wash your hands, and get a COVID-19 vaccine when able.
Together, we can turn from indifference and despair toward healing and hope. In this dark moment, we remember those we have lost, we care for those in our communities and we look to a brighter tomorrow for our nation.”
