Following the heartbreaking devastation caused by the severe flooding in Texas, the American Red Cross is working side by side with partners to help affected communities. We are supporting emergency sheltering, providing food, relief supplies and other critical resources like financial and family travel assistance to those affected. People can also access emotional support and resources by connecting with our disaster mental health volunteers.
Red Cross shelters are a safe place for everyone and act as a hub for disaster-related assistance. Anyone who has been affected is welcome. Guests are not required to provide identification or stay overnight.
In addition, we are supporting the efforts to ensure that all those who have suffered tragic loss have appropriate service to help them move forward. Those who need help can access many Red Cross services by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767).
