The American Red Cross is happy to partner with television and film studios and other content producers. Our partnerships take many forms but the goal is always of mutual benefit: increased awareness, participation and fundraising for the Red Cross; increased authenticity and positive community impact for your production.
In June 2023, Maroon 5 and Live Nation provided the Red Cross with a VIP fly-away experience package to raise funds for Disaster Relief. Proceeds from the sweepstakes went directly to help those who need it most. One lucky winner and guest received 2 VIP tickets to the Maroon 5 Residency in Vegas; 4 Food and Beverage Vouchers; Roundtrip Airfare for 2; 2-night stay at Park MGM; and an autographed item.
The Red Cross updated its Emergency App to include full Spanish translations of all content. The Red Cross recruited Latin talent to help amplify awareness about the bilingual capabilities of this life-saving tool and encourage fans and followers to download the App. With great response, the App received support from talent, including musical artists like Chayanne, Johann Vera and Becky G.
The Red Cross and Warner Bros. Discovery teamed up for the 35th anniversary of Shark Week and the theatrical release of Meg 2: The Trench to encourage fans to “get your heart pumping” by giving blood. Those who gave during the campaign were automatically entered for a chance to win a three-night New York getaway for two. The trip included a chance to search for “The Meg” in person by experiencing a private shark dive adventure at Long Island Aquarium. Donors who came to give blood July 17 to 31 also received a limited-edition Shark Week t-shirt.
Award-winning singer and actor Leslie Odom Jr. joined the Red Cross to create a PSA encouraging fans and followers to give back to their communities by making an appointment to donate blood. For the campaign, Leslie helped spread the word about Sickle Cell and asked his audience to join him to help save lives by donating blood.
Brianna Baker from FOX’s 9-1-1: Lone Star teamed up with the Red Cross for a PSA. In the video, the actress encouraged the show’s audience to help save lives by making an appointment to donate blood during January, National Blood Donor Month.
In February 2023, the Red Cross partnered with the Heisman to Hall of Fame Organization (H2H), a brand that represents the only men in history to both win a Heisman Trophy and be Enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, to tackle the need for blood. The drive took place in Glendale, AZ, during Super Bowl week. Those who participated received a limited-edition T-shirt, a chance to win an autographed helmet, and an opportunity to meet select members of the legendary H2H team, including Tim Brown, Earl Campbell, and Tony Dorsett.
For a fourth consecutive year, the Red Cross partnered with the NFL, encouraging fans to give blood for a chance to win a trip to Super Bowl LVII in Arizona. This partnership motivated nearly 297,000 people to make blood donation appointments, and over 15,000 new first-time donors came to give during January. The winning donor and a guest enjoyed Super Bowl LVII, access to day-of in-stadium pre-game activities, tickets to the official Super Bowl Experience, round-trip airfare to Phoenix, three-night hotel accommodations, plus a gift card for expenses.
The Red Cross also teamed up with Pro Football Hall of Famer and blood donor Peyton Manning to inspire the public to come together in January to help patients in need of lifesaving blood products.

After another year of record-breaking disasters, streamers from all walks of life helped to give back over the holidays by raising funds for Disaster Relief. Athletes, gamers and influencers took to Tiltify, Youtube and Twitch to support those in need around the country.
Following Hurricane Ian’s landfall, Sweet hosted a limited edition NFT by Florida artist Marlon Cruz. Funds raised went directly to help those affected by Hurricane Ian.
In the wake of Hurricane Ian’s destruction, Aerosmith made a contribution to fund two Community Emergency Vehicles for the Red Cross of Central Florida which will be used to move volunteers and supplies for disaster response and beyond. The two 2023 Chevrolet Silverado trucks are in production and will be delivered in the spring of 2023. In recognition of this generous support, the vehicles will feature the band’s signature Walk This Way logo.
In response to Hurricane Fiona, which impacted much of the Caribbean including Puerto Rico, Billboard supported the Red Cross by donating proceeds from Billboard Latin Music Week. Singer/songwriter Romeo Santos also made a contribution to this effort and Billboard’s parent company, Penske Media Corporation’s 2% Foundation, matched all funds. In total, over $240,000 was raised.
The Red Cross kicked off a new, internal Climate Change Speaker Series this past September. Bill Nye, renowned science educator, host and executive producer of The End is Nye, served as the series’ first guest, speaking with staff and answering questions about climate change and sustainability.
Neve Campbell starred in a new PSA to inspire fans to donate blood in August 2022. With a nod to her iconic film role, she encouraged us to donate our blood to save lives, and not waste it by dying in a typical horror movie way. This monthlong campaign motivated thousands of new blood donors to make an appointment to give.
Not only did Elvis Presley leave an everlasting fingerprint on the world as the first global rock and roll icon, but as a blood donor he also left a legacy of generosity and community service that continues to this day. In honor of Baz Luhrmann’s film ELVIS, the Red Cross teamed up with Warner Bros and ELVIS star Austin Butler to encourage fans to donate blood, just like Elvis Presley himself. All presenting donors June 1-30, 2022 were entered for a chance to win a VIP trip to Graceland in Memphis, TN. This promotion encouraged nearly 272,000 donors to schedule an appointment to give and motivated more than 16,000 first-time donors to come forward to give blood.
In April, the Red Cross teamed up with corporate partner Suburban Propane and Pro Football Hall of Famer and blood donor Jerry Rice to encourage fans to make an appointment to give blood, a simple act with a powerful impact. All presenting donors April 19-May 19 were entered for a chance to win a new travel trailer camper that sleeps eight, courtesy of Suburban Propane. This partnership prompted 41,000 new first-time blood donors to give.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, MilkBar, and celebrity chefs Jonathan Waxman and Marc Murphy teamed up to raise thousands for Red Cross’s annual Giving Day. One lucky winner won roundtrip airfare for two to New York City, three nights at a Manhattan hotel, tickets to a taping of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, dinner at Barbuto, and a gift from MilkBar.
All presenting blood donors in January were entered for a chance to win a trip for two to the Super Bowl. More than 443,000 blood, platelet, and plasma donations were collected during the promotion between January 1-31, 2022, helping to support the American Red Cross’s first ever blood crisis appeal and providing critical care to patients in need across the country. The promotion also contributed to motivating more than 37,000 first-time donors to come forward to give.
In partnership with the film The Matrix Resurrections, we reminded new and existing blood donors that “Humanity Needs You.” Those who donated between November 29 and December 16, 2021 were automatically entered for a chance to win a private screening of the epic new film for themself and 50 friends. An incredible original PSA video featuring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Priyanka Chopra, and Jessica Henwick truly captured the spirit of the partnership. During the campaign, 229,689 blood, platelet, and plasma donations were collected, of which over 21,000 were new first-time donors to the Red Cross.
This holiday season, influencers joined our holiday stream-a-thon to raise funds for disasters big and small. Gamers, performers, and other influencers stepped up following recent disasters to support those in need, spreading the word across Tiltify, YouTube, and social media.

In honor of the new series I Know What You Did Last Summer, all presenting blood donors Nov 1-12, 2021 were automatically entered for a chance to win a trip for two to Hawaii, where the series was filmed. Additionally, all donors within the timeframe received a $10 Amazon gift card. During the campaign, more than 202,000 blood, platelet, and plasma donations were collected. This partnership motived nearly 19,000 first-time donors to give blood with the Red Cross.
Fall 2021 marked the first annual Rescue Royale stream-a-thon and esports competition, featuring this year’s game, “Fall Guys.” Participants fundraised via personal streams and/or participated in our Fall Guys tournament, culminating with a live-stream championship event in Las Vegas. All funds supported Red Cross Disaster Relief operations.

In conjunction with the Fall 2021 Season Premiere of Fox’s hit show 9-1-1, Peter Krause provided viewers with lifesaving tips on how to safely get through a blackout.
The houseguests on the 23rd season of CBS’s “Big Brother” assembled Red Cross Emergency Kits during the episode that originally aired on August 25, 2021, to donate to those in need, educating viewers about crucial items for their own home kits. Additionally, cast members shared their personal connections to the American Red Cross mission throughout the segment. CBS wrapped the segment by announcing a $10,000 donation to the Red Cross, in support of this partnership.

In an effort to alleviate a severe summer blood shortage, the Red Cross offered all presenting blood donors during the month of August 2021 a free four-month special offer to Apple Music. In addition, those who presented to donate blood August 1-15 were automatically entered to win a VIP trip for two to the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, TN.
To support the Red Cross’s partnership with the American Cancer Society, Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner shared his personal story of battling Hodgkin lymphoma, while stressing the importance of blood donations to help those fighting cancer and other injuries.
The Van Der Beeks shared their touching story of Kimberly’s past need for blood, highlighting how fortunate they were that their hospital had blood available during those crucial times. As a blood donor himself, James encouraged all those eligible to do their part to help save lives and make their own appointments to donate blood.
The American Red Cross partnered with Alo Yoga to offer the brand’s premium fitness and wellness app free of charge to the Red Cross’s Services to the Armed Forces (SAF) community. The app offers a mix of breathwork, meditation, yoga, and cardio programming, allowing active duty servicepeople, veterans, and their families to access at-home, completely free classes from professional instructors. With the theme of #MentalHealthisHealth, we filmed a video series featuring three SAF community members who shared their personal stories and stressed the importance of mental health. We also co-hosted an Instagram Live chat with an Alo Moves veteran instructor and an SAF resiliency group leader.

To support the Red Cross’s Sound the Alarm campaign, CNN Entertainment Reporter Chloe Melas filmed a powerful video to share the story of her family’s home fire the year prior. In a mix of storytelling and photos, Chloe relived the evening her home caught fire, highlighting the warning signs and steps that allowed her family to exit safely, and encouraging others to take their own steps toward home fire safety.

Antonia Lofaso, Brooke Williamson, Duff Goldman, and Ludo Lefebvre teamed up to raise thousands for the Red Cross this Giving Day, with a culinary star-studded sweepstakes. One lucky winner won roundtrip airfare to Los Angeles, three nights at the Beverly Hilton hotel, and four exclusive culinary experiences/meet-and-greets with all four chefs.
In support of National Blood Donor Month in January, Angela Bassett took a moment on set to encourage Fox “9-1-1” fans to make blood donation appointments through the Red Cross to help save lives.
Building on last year’s successful Super Bowl prize package giveaway, blood donors during January 2020 had a chance to score big. One lucky blood donor won a Big Game at Home package, and the grand prize winner and a guest will be attending the Super Bowl LVI in February 2022 in Los Angeles, CA, the first Super Bowl in SoFi Stadium! This second annual campaign resulted in 210,000 appointments and 119,000 total blood donations within the month, nearly half of whom were first-time donors!
Thanks to a partnership with Primary Wave, Smokey Robinson, Leona Lewis, Tori Kelly, and Sam Fischer made the most of their quarantine time and recorded powerful new vocals for this socially-driven Holiday 2020 campaign video.
Following the devastation of Hurricane Laura, musician and Louisiana native Lauren Daigle recorded a live virtual benefit concert from the historic Orpheum Theater in New Orleans. The October 11, 2020 event’s ticket sales and accompanying donations brought in $108,000 for the Red Cross to help those affected by Hurricane Laura.
Leading up to the much-anticipated release of WW84, Warner Bros partnered with Red Cross to encourage fans to save the day by giving blood. For the month of July 2020, all presenting donors were entered to win an exclusive replica set of Wonder Woman’s golden lasso and gauntlets made by the film’s Prop Master. Additionally, all presenting donors from July 1 to 8 received a limited quantity WW84 t-shirt. During this campaign, more than 520,000 blood, platelet and plasma donations were collected of which 84,000 were new first-time donors to the Red Cross.
Country Artists Luke Bryan, CB30, Whitney Duncan, Jon Langston, Dylan Scott, and Cole Swindell teamed up for an incredible RallyUp sweepstakes in the midst of quarantine to raise funds for the Red Cross. Nearly 50 fans each won unique virtual artist meet-and-greets via Looped.
As a long time National Celebrity Cabinet member, and frequent Red Cross regional and disaster relief supporter, Peyton Manning represented the Red Cross as one of four charitable beneficiaries of TNT’s "The Match.” The television event and partner support resulted in nearly $2 million raised for the Red Cross.
RVshare donated a weeklong luxury RV, plus all expenses paid up to $2,500 to help raise money for Red Cross Giving Day in March. Participants in the RallyUp campaign were entered to win this one of a kind experience valued at up to $20,000, and simultaneously, help those in need. Country stars Russell Dickerson and Michael Ray Roach also helped promote this great cause across their social channels throughout the Campaign.
On March 26, Twitch streamer @JonSandman turned his nightly stream into a fundraiser for Red Cross Giving Day. The four-hour stream raised over $4,000.
From January through March 2020, clothing brand Veronica Beard donated $10 to Red Cross Disaster Relief for every online purchase, and on March 5, 10% of all in-store sales at Veronica Beard locations within the US was also donated. Red Cross Celebrity Cabinet member Elisabeth Rohm served as the face of the campaign, offering her star power and over 15 years of volunteerism with the Red Cross to encourage fans to support the initiative. In total, nearly $200,000 was raised.
In support of the first ever national campaign collaboration between the Red Cross and the American Cancer Society, known as “Give Blood to Give Time,” Cindy Crawford shared her experience of losing her brother to leukemia in an effort to highlight the importance of blood donation as part of many cancer treatments.

Rob Lowe, star of FOX’s new hit show, “9-1-1: Lone Star” asked fans to help save lives by making an appointment to donate blood in January, during National Blood Donor Month.
In the midst of a winter blood shortage, the NFL and Red Cross offered an incredible incentive to encourage football fans to give blood to help alleviate this shortage. From January 1 to 19, 2020, all presenting blood and platelet donors were automatically entered for a chance to win two tickets to Super Bowl LIV in Miami, FL, which also included entry to the official NFL Tailgate, tickets to Super Bowl Experience, round-trip airfare, and a $500 gift card for expenses.
“911” shared helpful information about Disaster Preparedness across their social channels throughout the month of September, which is National Preparedness Month.
To help recruit blood donors and increase appointments during the Missing Types summer blood campaign, NKOTB offered an all-expenses paid VIP Trip for two to meet the band, spend two nights at a beach-front resort, and attend their final tour performance in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. All presenting donors during the campaign were entered to win. They also used their in-concert app to encourage fans to make appointments to give blood throughout the summer-long tour.
Aisha Hinds and Oliver Stark, stars of Fox’s “9-1-1”, joined the Red Cross on May 11th in Long Beach, CA to support the Home Fire Campaign and help “Sound the Alarm” about the importance of working smoke alarms in homes. Aisha and Oliver spoke to over 200 volunteers ahead of the day’s events, and even installed alarms themselves for a local resident alongside the Long Beach Fire Department and Red Cross volunteers.

March 10th is known as “Slay Day,” the anniversary of the series premiere of the cult TV classic “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” In honor of Slay Day, the Red Cross partnered with 20th Century Fox for “Buffy”-themed blood drives in 5 cities (Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York, Charlotte and Nashville). Blood and Platelet donors at these drives were eligible to win a selection of unique giveaway items, including sold out comic books, limited edition “Buffy” themed Funko vinyl figures, and more.
Launched in February 2019, this campaign encouraged fans to make appointments to give blood by offering a special sweepstakes for season 8 premiere tickets, an additional sweepstakes for an actual Iron Throne, one-of-a-kind t-shirt giveaways at all blood drives in the U.S. and an incredible immersive experience event at SXSW in Austin, TX which included a fully operational blood drive. The culmination of this partnership resulted in approximately 350,000 blood donations of which 60,000 were new donors to the Red Cross.
National Celebrity Cabinet Member Sara Evans wowed the crowd at this year’s Wrapped in Red Gala. As one of Louisville’s premiere philanthropic events, guests were treated to a wonderful evening of great food and entertainment and Sara’s performance added a special touch to help bolster support and fundraising for the Red Cross mission.
Each year the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region thanks hundreds of active volunteers and honors a select few for extraordinary support in the community. For the last two years, National Celebrity Cabinet Member Elisabeth Röhm has hosted the event and presented awards to honorees, while also providing words of encouragement from her many years of volunteer experience with the Red Cross.
The LA Film Academy hosted a “Castlevania”-themed blood drive to encourage donations and promote the upcoming premiere of the show’s second season. In addition to branded giveaways, donors were also treated to a full screening of the first new episode, before airing on Netflix a week later. Fans were able to take pictures with life-size cutouts of their favorite characters, and even one of the voice actors from the show stopped by and donated blood herself! This promotion helped fill every donation appointment, and the drive exceeded collection goals.
The actors from FOX’s “9-1-1” recorded PSA’s to share the word about a nation-wide blood shortage in November 2018. These messages were designed to encourage their fans to make appointments to donate blood to help end the shortage and save lives
On Saturday, October 6th, Kellie Pickler headlined 2 shows at the Grand Ole Opry. Throughout the evening, guests were able to hear stories and watch videos about the victims of Hurricane Florence, and the subsequent relief work of the Red Cross in Kellie’s home state of NC and surrounding areas. The shows raised over $10k from ticket sales and individual donations, and welcomed a corporate donation from Zaxsby’s for over $130k.
In honor of National Preparedness Month and in conjunction with the fall season premieres of their hit shows “The Resident” and “9-1-1,” 21st Century FOX donated $1 to Red Cross Disaster Relief for every retweet of their campaign-related Twitter posts from Sept. 4 to Sept. 24. The Campaign hit its goal of 20,000 posts and $20,000 for Disaster Relief.
In June 2016, in conjunction with many international partners, Red Cross launched the #MissingType campaign, to highlight the constant need for blood donation, specifically the main blood types A, B and O. Celebrity and entertainment partners joined the #MissingType movement by asking fans and followers in various ways, “What would happen if As, Bs and Os went missing?”
Magician and digital influencer Jonathan Jacques visited a Red Cross blood donation center to speak with donors and volunteers and surprised them with a magic trick which highlighted the need for blood. Jonathan's heartfelt, motivational message is centered around the need for blood types A, B, and O. With nearly 400k views, his video helped spread this message to a large and diverse audience.
CMT One Country invited the Red Cross to join the red carpet at the 2018 CMT Awards to record special video messages from country artists that rely on the letters A, B and O to make their song lyrics complete. More than 45 artists recorded video messages, posed for photos and/or promoted the campaign on social media.
A diverse group of celebrity partners used their social media channels to inspire followers to participate in #MissingType by making an appointment to donate blood. Their messages were accompanied by custom GIF graphics, highlighting disappearing As, Bs and Os from their own names.
The Red Cross partnered with the 2018 VANS Warped Tour by offering blood and platelet donors VIP tour access passes in 28 different US cities. All presenting donors were also entered into a drawing to win a complete Warped Tour Experience package, which included concert tickets and VIP backstage passes. Warped Tour artists participated by wearing custom Red Cross t-shirts to encourage fans to donate blood and platelets.
To help kick off our Sound the Alarm Campaign on April 28, we had multiple celebrities involved with press events and smoke alarm installations.
Current Green Bay Packer Offensive Lineman Byron Bell joined the North Texas smoke alarm installation event in the Dallas area, where he shared his touching story about losing his own brother to a home fire, and helped raise awareness for home fire safety. Working with the local fire department and Red Cross volunteers, Byron and his family volunteered for this all-day event, installing over a dozen free smoke alarms in multiple homes.
David Eigenberg, Chicago resident and star of NBC’s CHICAGO FIRE, spoke at the Chicago Region’s kick-off press conference alongside Red Cross volunteers and personnel from the Chicago Fire Department. David then joined a team of volunteers and firefighters to install smoke alarms and spread fire safety messaging in the community.
The Greater Miami & The Keys Chapter of the American Red Cross honored Iberia-American pop music icon, Chayanne at its 36th Annual Red Cross Ball on Saturday, April 7th, 2018. Chayanne, a long-time volunteer and member of the Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet, was presented with the Crystal Cross Award, which honors celebrities and entertainment partners who have shown exemplary support of and service to the lifesaving mission of the Red Cross. Each year on his birthday, Chayanne advocates for the importance of blood donation, and with the devastating impact of Hurricane Maria in his native Puerto Rico, was incredibly active with disaster relief efforts.
Harry Styles donated a one of a kind experiential concert package to help us raise money for Red Cross’s Giving Day. Raffling 2 VIP passes to his sold-out Madison Square Garden concert, plus hotel and airfare, together we raised over $15k to support Disaster Relief.
In January 2018, in advance of the premiere of the new show THE RESIDENT, FOX Network sponsored blood drives in Atlanta, Los Angeles and Minneapolis to help recruit new donors and provide a special treat to frequent donors. In addition to receiving co-branded giveaways, donors had the opportunity to pre-screen the pilot episode of THE RESIDENT while giving blood ahead of the TV premiere. With support across social media and local affiliates, we surpassed all our goals for new and total donors for these drives.
Members of the famed boyband “98 Degrees” took time out of their busy 2017 holiday season of touring and album promotion to visit the Red Cross offices in New York City. They wanted to thank a group of dedicated volunteers and employees for all their hard work through a busy Fall 2017 disaster season. The band teamed up with #Masterpass by Mastercard to spread holiday cheer by singing carols, providing treats and hot cocoa, taking photos and delivering gifts.
Our Home Fire Campaign aims to make households and neighborhoods safer by installing free smoke alarms around the country. Here’s what happened when Wendy Williams visited her hometown of Asbury Park, New Jersey, to help the American Red Cross “Sound the Alarm” and install our 1 millionth smoke alarm.
On September 23 & 24, 2017, rideshare company Lyft partnered with the American Red Cross to “Lyft Up Our Neighbors in Need” and support Red Cross Disaster Relief at the third annual Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival in Franklin, TN. Together, thanks to generous festival attendees and a dollar for dollar match by Lyft, we raised over $25,000 for Red Cross Disaster Relief.
After Hurricane Harvey devastated the Gulf Coast, actor, comedian and activist Kevin Hart kicked off an exciting peer to peer fundraiser. Raising money for American Red Cross Harvey Relief, Kevin wanted to help those directly impacted, and challenged not only his fans to support those affected, but also his celebrity friends. Fellow actors, musicians and athletes such as Dwayne Johnson, The Kardashians, Nicki Minaj, Wendy Williams, Steve Harvey, and Will Ferrell, to name a few, were quick to join in and donate. Along with thousands of his fans, Kevin helped raise nearly 1.5M to support those impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Kevin then joined the Red Cross on the ground in Houston to deliver food, water and supplies to individuals and families in need, along with friend and fellow supporter, NBA star Chris Paul.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Shell Oil Company donated $1 million to the American Red Cross to support the response to the hurricane. Joey Logano, driver for the #22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion, also donated $25,000 to the Red Cross. As part of this incredible partnership, the No. 22 car was branded with the Red Cross logo for two races this fall.

Twitch gamers GoldGlove, VernNotice, HayliNic and FemSteph joined forces to raise money for Giving Day from Monday, April 24th through Wednesday, April 26th, engaging fans, followers and fellow gamers for 48 hours.
With over 1500 individual donations made throughout the marathon stream, the gamers were able to help raise over $59,000 in donations, and helped secure the $25,000 #help1family hashtag match generously made by Craig Newmark of Craigslist. With surprise raffle prizes, fan interactions, and Red Cross storytelling, this incredibly positive event stretched across social media and the Twitch gaming universe.
