Michael Miebach

Michael Miebach is chief executive officer of Mastercard and a member of the company’s board of directors. For more than a decade, Mr. Miebach has been crucial in setting and delivering on the strategy that redefines how people and businesses pay and get paid. He brings a deep understanding and appreciation of technology, cybersecurity, data science, marketing and local market needs to guide the company’s activities. Following a career at Barclays and Citibank, Mr. Miebach joined Mastercard in 2010 to direct its operations in Africa and the Middle East before serving as the company’s chief product officer.
