Though our reach is vast, our impact is profoundly personal. For people in need, the American Red Cross serves as the bridge from despair to hope. Consider growing your investment in our mission through a grant from your family foundation.
Nearly every second of every day, the American Red Cross helps someone in need down the street, across the country and around the world.
Your gift will help ensure we can continue to deliver our lifesaving mission of preventing and alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies. By making a charitable donation through your family foundation, you can help empower us to stand with communities and individuals in need.
Whether we’re…
Providing shelter to home fire and natural disaster survivors
Collecting and delivering
lifesaving blood
Supporting service
members and their families
Vaccinating vulnerable
children against measles
Training local heroes in
first aid and CPR
…your support enables us to be where we’re needed most.

Family Foundations are charitable-giving vehicles whose funds are derived from members of a single family.
What are the differences between a Family Foundation and a Donor Advised Fund?
A Family Foundation is created and funded on an ongoing basis with assets such as real estate, private stock, cash or other family-controlled assets. It can be managed by the family or a professional manager and the family may make recommendations on grants to nonprofits.
A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a philanthropic giving vehicle that allows individuals to donate assets for charity today and receive a tax deduction now, while maintaining discretion about when the assets will be granted to charity.
Support all the urgent humanitarian needs of the American Red Cross.
