
MIAMI, Fla. (April 12, 2021) — Throughout the weekend, American Red Cross volunteers from the South Florida Region responded to multiple home fires impacting families in the following cities: Miami, North Miami Beach, Hialeah, Doral, Jupiter, Royal Palm Beach, Sebring, and Cape Coral.
On Friday evening, Red Cross Disaster Action Team volunteers responded to three home fires. One impacting a family of five, including two children in Royal Palm Beach, Fla., a Cape Coral, Fla. home fire impacting two adults, and a home fire in Sebring, Fla. impacting three adults.
On Saturday, the Red Cross responded to two additional home fires. The first impacted a family of five, including two children in Doral, Fla., and a Miami, Fla. home fire that impacted a family of three, including one child.
On Sunday, the Red Cross responded to another two home fires in Jupiter, Fla. impacting seven people, including four children, and a Hialeah, Fla. home fire impacting six people, including one child.
During the night Monday morning, the Red Cross responded to a multi-family fire in North Miami Beach, Fla. impacting 28 people, including five children.
The Red Cross helped coordinate emergency aid for the 59 individuals impacted and provided direct client assistance and recovery planning to meet their disaster-caused needs.
Red Cross volunteers have been trained to follow proper safety procedures and protocols to continue serving communities impacted by local disasters during the coronavirus outbreak.
