WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (November 10, 2020) - The South Florida Red Cross has named Josett Valdez as its new Regional Chief Executive Officer.
As the Regional Executive for South Florida, Valdez will oversee four chapters in the region serving nearly 8 million people across 13 counties and be accountable for service delivery and fundraising. Valdez, a Colorado native, has been with the Red Cross for 18 years and previously served as the Chief Development Officer for the Colorado & Wyoming Region.
“I am excited to join the South Florida community to continue fulfilling our mission of preventing and alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies and using my nearly two decades of experience with the Red Cross, to help mobilize the power of our volunteers and the generosity of our donors to be the best thing that happens to someone on their worst day,” said Josett Valdez. “This is what the Red Cross does and what I look forward to being a part of in South Florida.”
Valdez joins the South Florida Region with nearly two decades of experience at the Red Cross, serving in positions across all lines of service at the regional, divisional and national level. Some of her previous positions include, serving as Interim Regional Chapter Executive Officer for the American Red Cross of New Mexico, Interim Chief Development Officer in Houston, TX, following Hurricane Harvey, and most recently, serving a dual role of Chief Development Officer for Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming.

In 2019, Valdez was a key initiator of the Red Cross Diverse Business Center. She played a key role in bringing the Denver diverse business chambers under one roof, in partnership with the Red Cross, creating the forum for collaboration and innovation.
Prior to that, she served in roles such as Chief Operating Officer, Service to the Armed Forces Division Director for the Southwest and Rocky Mountain Division and Disaster Services Training.
Outside of her work with Red Cross, Valdez sits on the Board of Directors for Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Company and St. Jude Rocky Mountains Board.
