
FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 20, 2021) – The Florida Gulf Coast to Heartland Chapter of the American Red Cross announced that Maura Corvino and Dr. Shawn Felton joined its Board of Directors.
Maura Corvino, RN currently the CEO of Corvino & Corvino Consulting, has a 25-year career providing extraordinary healthcare. First as an Emergency Nurse/Paramedic who went on to become Asst. Chief Flight Nurse for STAT Flight, a Medevac Service providing lifesaving interventions to the most critically ill and injured adult & pediatric patients in the New York Metro area. Maura’s ability to cultivate relationships coupled with her own special style of leadership brought her to Nurse Executive positions at three tri-state (NY, NJ, CT) hospitals, building strong teams, while empowering underperforming Emergency Departments to high performing teams.
Residing in Naples, Fla., Maura currently provides Executive Coaching, Leadership Development Training & Team Building Exercises. She has been a volunteer at The Shelter for Abused Women & Children since 2017 and is a Class XXlll graduate of the Greater Naples Leadership, Master’s Program.
Dr. Shawn Felton is the Interim Dean of the Marieb College of Health & Human Services at Florida Gulf Coast University. He has previously served in several other leadership positions within the college including most recently as the Associate Dean for Academics and prior to that the Department Chair for Health Sciences leading the largest department in the college. Additionally, he served as Department Chair of Athletic Training and Director of the Doctor of Athletic Training Program at Florida International University where he launched the Doctor of Athletic Training program.
In addition to his faculty responsibilities, he served as the Faculty Senate President and University Trustee and also served as the Vice Chairman for FGCU Board of Trustees.
