FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (March 22, 2022) – In honor of Red Cross Month, The Hard Rock Guitar Hotel will light up in hues of vibrant red in support of the Red Cross and Giving Day tomorrow, March 23. By lighting up in red, The Guitar Hotel will show tribute to the Red Cross and show support of its mission in the community.
“We are grateful to have the community support during Red Cross Month and show tribute to our lifesaving mission of alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies,” said Paula Prendergast, Executive Director of the Broward County Chapter. “Red Cross Giving Day is another great way for the community to show their support this month and we encourage all our supporters to lend a helping hand on March 23.”
During Red Cross Month, volunteers are recognized and honored for providing hope and urgent relief to families in need in the face of life’s emergencies. They are the true heroes of the Red Cross, comprising 90 percent of the workforce.
More than 80 years ago, March was first proclaimed Red Cross Month in 1943 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to raise awareness of the organization and its humanitarian mission. Today, we continue to celebrate this month by asking everyone be there for our communities when they need us most.
Tomorrow, on March 23, you can also join our annual Red Cross Giving Day campaign by donating at redcross.org/givingday to help provide shelter, food, relief items, emotional support and other assistance for people affected by disasters big and small.
