Volunteers with the American Red Cross of Northwest Illinois will be available tomorrow, July 18 to help residents who were affected by recent fires at 930 Greenbrier Rd and 808 Ridge Drive and who couldn’t attend this past Saturday’s Family Resource Center event. The Red Cross continues to work with many of the families impacted by the fires.
Red Cross volunteers will be at the Family Service Agency located at 14 Health Services Drive in DeKalb from 10AM-4PM on Thursday, July 18. Individuals must bring proof of residency for affected location. Either State ID with correct address, or utility bill that corresponds to that address.
The Red Cross will provide financial assistance, casework follow up and referral services including for disaster mental health to the people and families going through this difficult time. Residents affected can call the American Red Cross dispatch line at 312.729.6258 for information.
Since last week, the American Red Cross has been working with many of the residents impacted by these fires and wants to make sure that other individuals in need of assistance receive the help that is available to recover after these two disasters.
