In late July of 2022, heavy rains caused extreme flooding across eastern Kentucky, causing immense damage to homes and critical infrastructure in multiple communities. In the weeks to come, the American Red Cross was there to support those in Kentucky who were impacted by the devastating flood waters.
In Spring 2019, communities across the Midwest were ravaged by a series of flooding and severe weather events—including multiple devastating tornadoes—that impacted tens of thousands of residents.
Residents of Oroville, CA were ordered to evacuate after a hole in an emergency spillway in the Oroville Dam threatened to flood the surrounding area.
It took time for people to get back on their feet, but with the commitment of generous donors and volunteers, we were able to help ensure they had the support to recover.
In late June of 2016, devastating floods hit West Virginia, covering a large portion of the state.
